The Adventure Centre prides itself on being one of the leading development training centres in the UK and our aim is to provide “excellence in outdoor adventure and education”. The Centre was established in 1991 and has been providing quality development training courses for a wide range of individuals and groups ever since. The Centre is based on the Kelly College estate in Tavistock, Devon, and is owned by Kelly Enterprises Ltd which holds an Investor in People Award.
We are proud to offer a large number of courses and training programmes covering everything from climbing and canoeing to navigation and teambuilding. Some of our courses can be tailor-made to suit your aims and objectives so if you would like us to develop a programme unique to you, just let us know. Programmes may include all or some of the following elements:
- Leadership coaching and development
- Teambuilding activities
- Outdoor skill development
- An overnight expedition
- High Ropes Course Challenge
- Our unique ‘Weir Challenge’
Programmes can also be linked to National Curriculum levels for Key Stages 2-4.
As part of our commitment to you and your experience in the outdoors, The Adventure Centre employs highly qualified and experienced professionals who care about the development of individuals. They are chosen not only for their hard skills but also for their soft skills - their ability to communicate well, good sense of humour and passion for the outdoors.
The Important Bit...
Safety is of the highest importance at The Adventure Centre. The Centre is licensed by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority (L3368/R0554) and is thus checked by an inspector approved by the Health and Safety Committee. We are also a British Canoe Union Approved Centre and inspected annually to ensure our procedures, staffing and equipment meet the required standard. All of our staff comply with Government regulations, including the Criminal Records Bureau check, and relevant references are obtained.
