Night Navigation
Experience navigating in the dark and sharpen your skills.
The ability to navigate in reduced visibility is an invaluable skill for recreational walkers and professional leaders alike. The importance of being accurate is often much greater than when visibility is good, and being able to find your way can be quite challenging. Our night navigation evenings are run by experienced navigators and can be used to develop your navigating skills or get in some much needed practice before a Mountain Leader or Walking Group Leader assessment. Pacing and bearings are frequently used during reduced visibility when precision is significant and they will be taught or tested depending on your existing experience. You will leave feeling more confident in your ability to navigate in the dark and have enhanced your navigating skills for use in a variety of conditions.
