BCU 3 Star Training - White Water, Open Canoe or Sea Kayak
A two day course covering all aspects of the BCU 3 Star Award in White Water Kayaking, Canoeing or Sea Kayaking.
The 3 Star syllabus is an extension of the skills developed during the BCU 2 Star Award and you will learn how to adapt certain strokes to a new environment, either on moving water or on the sea. As well as developing existing skills you will also learn new skills, such as how to break in and out of an eddy, how to ferry glide and/or how to plan and prepare for a sea journey. This training course is designed to introduce you to the basics of the 3 Star syllabus so that you can continue practicing the skills in your own time before moving on to assessment. The course will take place on flat water, simple white water up to class II and/or the sea. There will also be a pool session. Participants can expect to leave with a thorough understanding of the level required for their respective 3 Star Award and a solid foundation from which to progress. A personalised action plan will be discussed at the end of the course to ensure your continued development as a paddler.
