Learning Outside the Classroom
The Adventure Centre’s core values are self-reliance and challenge by choice. These values fit in very well with the government’s Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto and are aimed at developing young people with the ability to make good choices, think and act for themselves. The benefits of learning away from the classroom have been proven time and again which is why our school programmes are so beneficial. We provide students with the opportunity to experience new environments, learn new skills and challenge themselves beyond their comfort zones.
“Every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development, whatever their age, ability and circumstances.” Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto November 2006
All of our school programmes can be themed around a particular topic if you would like the week to meet specific curriculum objectives, or you can let us plan a programme for you involving a range of skills and activities which naturally encourage learning and personal development.
