Expeditions
‘The world beyond the classroom’ isn’t limited to the grounds of The Adventure Centre which is why we also offer ‘residential’ experiences in other locations. The Wye Valley in south Wales is an ideal location for a canoe and kayak expedition and the week is split into two parts; the training phase and the expedition phase. During training, the group is based at a bunk house and makes day trips along the river to learn a number of important strokes and familiarise themselves with paddling. The expedition involves two nights camping along the river in the beautiful Wye Valley while the group continues to improve technique and enjoy the journey.
All aspects of personal development which students gain from a regular visit to The Adventure Centre still take place on expedition, with teamwork, communication and problem solving forming an important part of any successful trip. Other expedition weeks incorporating walking, navigation and bushcraft skills may also be available, contact us for more details.
