GCSE PE Practical
GSCE PE is becoming more popular and students are expected to choose activities from at least two different activity groups. One of the groups of activities available for students to choose from is ‘Outdoor and Adventurous Activities’, which is where The Adventure Centre comes in. Our practical weeks give students the opportunity to practice and be assessed in their chosen activity, typically either climbing or kayaking, so their visit is both enjoyable and a valuable part of their GCSE work.
There is often an opportunity at the end of the week for students to spend their final day doing something different, normally the activity they are not being assessed in, as a reward for their hard work. The aim of the week is to follow the examining body’s syllabus and we use a range of different venues including lakes, rivers, crags, an indoor climbing wall and our on-site swimming pool to give students the opportunity to develop and perform.
